Experience Uganda’s Ancient Rainforest

Gorilla Safari Lodge is nestled at the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda, a region known for its ancient rainforest, rich biodiversity, and the critically endangered mountain gorilla. The lodge is ideally positioned just a five-minute walk from the starting point for gorilla trekking, making it one of the most convenient bases for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to an extraordinary range of wildlife, including forest elephants, more than 23 endemic bird species, and of course, several habituated gorilla families. In addition to gorilla tracking, the area offers a variety of other experiences such as cultural encounters with the Batwa community, forest hikes to scenic sites like Bayenda Falls, mountain biking, and guided nature walks.

The Perfect Base for Gorilla and Wildlife Exploration

Gorilla Safari Lodge offers 18 en-suite rooms designed to reflect a simple and comfortable lodge experience. Each room is equipped with solar-powered lighting, hot and cold running water, and flush toilets. Set amongst banana and guava trees, rooms provide privacy while still offering glimpses of the forest canopy and surrounding hills. The lodge is family-friendly, and while children under 15 cannot participate in gorilla treks, babysitting services are available upon request.

Guests are welcomed by vibrant gardens filled with indigenous plants and flowers, creating a colourful and natural introduction to the forest environment. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with attentive staff providing a high level of care throughout your stay. The main area of the lodge includes dining and relaxation spaces, with the option to book spa and massage treatments for those seeking additional rest and rejuvenation after trekking.

Gorilla Safari Lodge is a thoughtful choice for travellers seeking a lodge that combines comfort, proximity to gorilla trekking, and a strong sense of place. Whether you are here for wildlife, culture, or simply to unwind in nature, the lodge serves as a reliable and welcoming base for exploring one of Africa’s most iconic rainforests.
