Ashnil Samburu Camp is a luxury tented camp located deep in Kenya’s northern frontier, set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Ol Olokwe and along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Shaded by groves of doum palms, the camp offers an immersive safari experience in the heart of Samburu National Reserve, one of Kenya’s most unique and scenic wildlife destinations.

The camp features 19 luxury en-suite tents, thoughtfully positioned along the riverbank to maximise privacy and views. Each tent includes a private wooden deck overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, offering guests a chance to observe passing wildlife and the river’s seasonal rhythms in comfort.

Inside, tents are spacious and well-appointed with a dressing area, sitting space, luggage rack, and modern bathroom facilities. Accommodation options include nine tents with King or Queen beds, seven with twin beds, and three triple tents, catering to couples, friends, and families alike.

At the heart of the camp is a relaxed central area that includes a lounge bar, lush gardens, and an inviting outdoor swimming pool, a welcome retreat during the heat of the day. The on-site restaurant offers panoramic river views and serves a selection of traditional Kenyan, Oriental, and international dishes, with menus designed to cater to a variety of tastes.

Ashnil Samburu Camp provides a range of experiences that showcase the region’s natural and cultural heritage. Guests can enjoy guided game drives to spot Samburu’s distinctive wildlife, including the ‘Samburu Special Five’: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Other activities available on request include guided nature walks, cultural visits to a nearby Samburu village, sundowners in scenic locations, and private bush meals under the stars.
